A: Kids Invent! camps begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. During the first hour of camp, introductions are made and lesson plans for the day are reviewed. During the next hour, morning snack is served and campers begin working on Project 1. Around noon, lunch break is taken giving campers the opportunity to eat lunch and play games indoors or outdoors (depending on the weather). Following lunch, campers begin working on Project 2 and will eat an afternoon snack. Campers will clean up around 3:40 p.m. and set up their stations for the following day. At 4 p.m., parents arrive to pick up their campers.

A: The sooner you register your child for camp, the better. Registration is open until capacity (30 campers) is reached. We recommend registering your child for camp by the beginning of May.

A: The cost of camp is $225 for Young Inventors camp and $279 (early bird special) for Robotics and Digital Videos camp. The early bird special camp price is valid until June 10, 2013. *Note: Your child is not registered until payment is received. You will be contacted when payment is received.

Q: Once I have registered my child for camp, can I switch camps if needed?

A: Yes. As long as capacity is not reached in the camp you would like to switch your child to, you may do so by calling Kids Invent! at 559-347-3925.

Q: Who are the camp leaders and camp assistants?

A: All camp leaders are certified school teachers and experts in their field (ie, Robotics, Video Production). All camp assistants are Fresno State students with courses in Child Development, Criminology, Liberal Studies and Technology. All camp staff have worked with Kids Invent! for more than 3 years and have been fingerprinted, background checked and have passed CPR and First Aid Certification.

Q: What is the camp dress code?

A: We require that all campers wear closed toe shoes and appropriate fitting clothing (no saggy pant or short shorts, etc). We recommend that campers wear comfortable clothing that parents don’t mind getting dirty from hands-on activities. Campers will be provided with a Kids Invent! T-shirt they can choose to wear to camp daily.

Q: What does my child need to bring to camp?

A: Campers need to bring a lunch daily and it is recommended that they bring a water bottle as well (snack and water will be provided daily). If your camper has special dietary needs, it is recommended that they bring an appropriate snack. Through the week, campers may volunteer to bring props or supplies from home. Bringing personal belongings is up to the discretion of the parents.

Q: What is the student/teacher ratio?

A: Each camp reaches full capacity at 30 students. For each camp, there is 1 Camp Leader and 5 Camp Assistants.

Q: What is your cell phone policy?

A: At Kids Invent! we understand the importance of communicating with your child. We ask that if your child has a cell phone, or needs to be contacted, you let a Kids Invent! staff member know. Campers will be asked to leave their cell phones in their lunch boxes. If the phone becomes a distraction to other campers, it will be confiscated and given to the parents at the end of camp that day. Campers can also be reached in emergency by contacting our Front Desk at 559-294-2045.
